Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a mid-senior level Business Litigation Associate Attorney in Washington, DC. The role is hybrid and part of a prominent AmLaw 200 firm’s Business Litigation Practice, offering exposure to high-exposure trial matters and a collaborative litigation team.

Ideal candidates hold a JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academics, active DC/MD/VA bar admissions, and at least 4 years of substantive commercial litigation experience, including federal court work.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia in good standing.
• Law Review or Clerkship experience is a plus.
• 4+ years of substantive commercial, business litigation experience.
• Experience with federal court litigation is a plus.
• Demonstrated stand-up experience, including taking and defending depositions and courtroom advocacy.
• Proven legal research, writing, and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Highly motivated and driven, with a strong commitment to exceptional client service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Manage and assist with high-stakes business litigation matters across industries.
• Conduct discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
• Draft and argue motions and briefs in state and federal courts.
• Participate in trial preparation, hearings, and courtroom proceedings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and litigation teams to develop case strategies.
• Communicate effectively with clients, co-counsel, and internal teams.
