Job summary

Multnomah County is seeking a full-time Data Technician in the Survey Section of the Department of Community Services to serve as the first point of contact for the public and manage data for the SA​IL system. Responsibilities include processing surveys, maintaining records, and supporting the County Surveyor’s Office.

The position requires an Associate degree or equivalent and one year of technical/clerical experience with customer service and data systems.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to an Associate degree from an accredited college with major course work in a math, computer science, engineering, surveying technology, construction management, or related field; AND One (1) year of increasingly complex administrative/technical clerical experience that includes: Customer service
• Maintaining automated information systems
• Experience with database, spreadsheets, and word processing software

Responsibilities

• Process surveys, partition, subdivision and condominium plats submitted by Professional Land Surveyors for review by County Surveyor and staff
• File and index records into the public survey records database and GIS
• Maintain and support unique data applications systems
• Collect, verify, update, and edit all required data
• Provide support for all functions of County Surveyor’s Office
• Interface with customers through phone, in person contact and email
• Maintain records of all money submitted for contracts with County Surveyor
• Archive final and all working copies of survey, partition, subdivision and condominium records per state standards
