Job summary

Wayfair is seeking a data scientist to join the Customer Tech Data Science team in Boston. You will massage multi-terabyte data from sales, clickstream, logistics, and product databases to deliver actionable insights and recommendations, collaborating with product, engineering, and design.

You'll design and analyze experiments, develop visualizations in Looker and BigQuery, and translate complex analyses into business impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Economics, or related quantitative field; Masters preferred.
• 2+ years of work experience in analytics or data science.
• Proficient in Python, R, SAS, or SPSS.
• Proficient in SQL (aggregates, joins, etc.).
• Experience analyzing large, complex data sets.
• Experience with modeling algorithms to derive business insights.
• Experience with A/B testing.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, Google Data Studio, Tableau, PowerBI).

Responsibilities

• Construct optimized code that massages information from multi-terabyte data sources to deliver business insights.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and design to drive data-driven decision making.
• Become subject matter expert for data, analytics, and testing for your area.
• Design, execute and analyze A/B tests to improve customer experience.
• Perform deep-dive analyses using advanced techniques to solve business problems.
• Develop data visualizations and dashboards in Looker and GBQ to disseminate insights.
