Job summary

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking a Data Scientist for ID/STRAT and Program Evaluation on the Health Economics and Reporting team. The role focuses on solving business problems using statistical modeling, ML, and operations research to support data science initiatives and educate teams on AI concepts.

The candidate will work in a hybrid Maryland/DC/NOVA setting, collaborating with product teams and business units, and may mentor junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field is required or in lieu of Bachelor's, 4 years of additional relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Mines and extracts data and apply algorithms to derive insights for ID/STRAT, Attribution/Program Assignment, Data Extracts/Sharing, Population Health Management, Predictive Modeling and Program Evaluation.
• Explores data to understand data profile and limitations.
• Translates business priorities to data science deliverables.
• Reviews trends in ML/AI/DS space and assists with integrating new designs.
