Job summary

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield in Baltimore seeks a senior data science leader to drive ML/AI initiatives across the enterprise. You will identify business problems, apply statistical models and ML methods, and mentor junior data scientists.

The role requires strong communication with product teams and business units, and a hybrid work model in the Baltimore/Washington area. You will lead analytics, data governance, and collaborations with IT, vendors, and partners to deliver scalable data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 4 additional years of relevant work experience.
• 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Prior Healthcare analytics experience is a must.

Responsibilities

• Leads data mining and extraction activities and apply algorithms to derive insights.
• Synthesizes analytical findings for consumption by teams and senior executives.
• Leads proliferation of ML/AI/DS solutions.
• Applies AI techniques to achieve concrete business goals with data constraints.
• Mentors and develop junior data scientists for advanced data analysis.
• Translates business priorities and creates data science deliverables.
• Leads implementation of ML/AI/DS best practices for new data products.
