Job summary

Cisco is seeking an experienced Data Platform Architect to lead the construction of a cloud-native data platform powering real-time CX analytics. You will own distributed data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and backend services end-to-end while setting standards for data modeling, observability, and API access.

You will mentor engineering pods, drive CI/CD automation, and collaborate with platform, security, and product stakeholders to align technical execution with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years.
• Experience in Python and SQL for data engineering and backend development in Go, Java, Node.js, or Rust.
• Experience designing REST or GraphQL APIs with PostgreSQL/MySQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with distributed messaging and streaming systems (Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS).
• Experience building data platforms with Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery/AWS Redshift and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and optimize scalable cloud-native backend services and data platforms for real-time CX analytics.
• Design robust batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines with CDC and lakehouse architectures.
• Establish data modeling, semantic layers, schema governance, and observability standards.
• Define high-performance API contracts (REST, GraphQL) and expose datasets for reporting and AI apps.
• Lead CI/CD automation, code and design reviews, mentor engineers, and coordinate cross-team dependencies.
