Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Data Platform Architect to lead cloud-native backend services and lakehouse deployments powering real-time CX analytics.

You will architect scalable pipelines, set data modeling and observability standards, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product and security teams to align execution with business priorities. This hybrid role requires deep data streaming, CDC expertise, and API design excellence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a Master's.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for data engineering and backend development in Go/Java/Node.js/Rust.
• Experience designing REST or GraphQL APIs and working with PostgreSQL/MySQL/NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and optimize scalable cloud-native backend services and data platforms for high-throughput ingestion and real-time analytics.
• Design robust batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines with CDC and lakehouse architectures (Snowflake, Databricks).
• Establish data modeling, semantic layers, schema governance, and telemetry for reliability and observability.
