Job summary

Johnson & Johnson's MedTech Electrophysiology (JJMT EP) in Irvine, CA, seeks a Data Governance and Stewardship Lead to develop, operationalize, and validate governance for clinical, preclinical, and commercial data assets. Hybrid schedule 2–3 days in the office.

You will design programs, policies, and controls, implement data usage rules, and collaborate with business, IT, and compliance teams to ensure data quality, security, and compliant access across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in data science, CS, IS, engineering, life sciences, biomedical engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in data governance within a regulated industry.
• Experience with data governance technologies for stewardship, data quality, lineage, and access management.
• Experience using cloud technologies to build, optimize, and govern data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Implement data usage policies and access controls across data assets.
• Design and improve data governance programs, policies, and controls.
• Develop automation workflows for data access and usage policies.
• Collaborate with business teams to embed governance standards across enterprise data and technology landscape.
• Support governance tooling evaluations and scalable implementation.
• Maintain business glossary, data integration, and data lineage.
• Partner with teams to document data sources, ownership, and access requirements.
• Enable governed access to clinical, preclinical, and commercial data for safety and development.
• Support audit workflows and governance metrics.
• Present status and risks to internal/external partners.
• Coach junior colleagues on governance processes and responsibilities.
