Job summary

Citi in Irving, TX is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead scalable data solutions powering regulatory reporting, analytics, and business decisions. This hands-on leadership role mentors a data-engineering team and translates complex technical concepts into business outcomes.

You will design pipelines, data lakes, and batch/streaming systems, uphold engineering standards and CI/CD practices, and partner with stakeholders to reduce risk and improve data quality across the organization.

Qualifications

• 6+ years delivering data-intensive solutions in agile environments.
• Hands-on experience building production-grade ETL pipelines with Spark.
• Experience with large-scale platforms (Hadoop, Hive, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Strong SQL and Python skills; familiarity with CI/CD and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of data management and governance disciplines.
• Ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, highly available data pipelines and models.
• Architect data lake solutions and distributed data systems for regulatory and analytics use cases.
• Identify and mitigate risks in the data supply chain.
• Champion engineering standards, documentation, and best practices.
• Translate complex concepts into business-relevant language and align stakeholders.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and drive team capability-building.
• Lead technical discussions and support hiring decisions.
