Job summary

CJ is hiring a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms and pipelines across cloud providers and modern lakehouse architectures. You will partner with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver reliable data assets and governance.

The role emphasizes AI-native workflows and secure, governed data solutions. The position is hybrid, requiring three days in CJ offices in the United States.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks, AWS, Snowflake, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with integrating AI and automation tools to move faster and deliver higher quality code.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with Spark and distributed data processing (PySpark preferred).
• Strong experience with data pipelines (ETL/ELT, event-driven, or workflow-based systems)
• Understanding of Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Medallion architecture concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, PySpark, SQL, and Spark-based technologies.
• Advocate AI-native engineering workflows and promote tools like Claude Code, Codex, Copilot.
• Build data ingestion frameworks via APIs, SFTP, cloud storage, databases, and third-party integrations.
• Develop data products in a modern Data Lakehouse using Medallion architecture.
• Create and optimize workflows, orchestration, and monitoring for reliability and performance.
• Manage cloud data infrastructure across Databricks, AWS, Snowflake, Google Cloud.
• Build tooling and dashboards to monitor pipeline health, resource use, uptime.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, Product, and Engineering to deliver scalable data assets.
• Maintain source control, CI/CD, repo standards, deployment best practices.
