Job summary

Northramp LLC is seeking a Data Engineer to build and operate cloud-native data pipelines and warehousing, with BigQuery as the primary analytics data warehouse. You will enable analytics-ready data for enterprise reporting, AI/ML, and program management across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.

The role emphasizes data quality, schemas, and secure data access within federal standards, collaborating with data scientists and analysts in a hybrid, DC-area setup.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of data engineering in cloud data platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, or related field.
• Strong SQL with BigQuery experience and optimization.
• Proficiency in Python for ETL tasks.
• Experience with dbt for data modeling.
• Experience with Airflow or Cloud Composer.
• Knowledge of cloud storage/data services across major providers.
• Understanding of data modeling and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines to BigQuery and other warehouses.
• Model data, schemas, and transformations with dbt, SQL, Python.
• Manage pipeline orchestration and monitor health and SLAs.
• Integrate data platforms with source systems and SaaS APIs.
• Implement data access controls and encryption per FedRAMP/FISMA.
• Build data cataloging and lineage practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts on data readiness.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code for data platforms (Terraform).
• Support data quality and governance, including logging and retention.
