Job summary

Northstrat is seeking a Data Engineer to join an agile team in a hybrid environment with a mix of remote and in-person work. The role focuses on building and maintaining ETL pipelines for end-to-end data operations, from ingest to query, supporting government data acquisition and analytics.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience, strong Python and Java skills, and a DoD 8140/8570 compliant mindset.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of total relevant experience.
• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Current or Active Top-Secret Clearance; SCI eligible.
• Experience with Python and Java.
• Data extraction, labeling, and data prep for analytics.
• Familiarity with JSON/XML formats.
• Ability to decompose technical problems and troubleshoot data flows.
• Experience with Agile lifecycle and Linux.
• Experience with Git, Nexus, Maven; and standard SDLC tools.
• DoD 8140/8570 certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• Hybrid work; 1–2 days/week at Sterling, VA office; flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines to support data ingestions and processing.
• Work with big data systems and diverse data sets to enable analytics.
• Collaborate in an agile team to deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Troubleshoot system and data flow issues under tight deadlines.
• Support government data acquisition, analysis and sharing efforts.
