Job summary

Northramp is seeking a Data Engineer to design and operate cloud-native data pipelines, warehousing, and integration layers that make enterprise data analytics-ready. BigQuery will be the primary warehouse in a hybrid, DC-area role with on-site client presence and permitted remote work within mission constraints.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of hands-on data engineering in cloud platforms and pipelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Math; relevant experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines into BigQuery and other data warehouses.
• Develop and manage data models, schemas, and transformations using dbt, SQL, and Python.
• Implement and operate pipeline orchestration with Airflow/Cloud Composer; monitor health and SLAs.
• Integrate data platforms with upstream sources (GCS/S3, AWS RDS, Azure SQL) and SaaS APIs.
• Enforce data access controls, encryption, and FedRAMP/FISMA-aligned security.
• Build data cataloging and lineage for governance and auditability.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and analysts to ensure data availability and performance.
• Develop IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD for data assets.
• Support data quality frameworks including profiling and anomaly detection.
• Contribute to ATO documentation and security controls.
