Job summary

Northramp LLC is seeking a Data Engineer to design and operate cloud-native data pipelines and warehousing for enterprise-scale analytics. You will build pipelines into BigQuery, model data and transformations with dbt, and ensure data quality and security in a federal environment.

You will collaborate with data scientists and analysts, manage CI/CD for data assets, and apply Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code in a hybrid DC metro setting.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of hands-on data engineering experience with cloud data platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong SQL skills with BigQuery; familiarity with optimization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL data pipelines into BigQuery and other warehouses.
• Develop data models, schemas, and transformation logic using dbt, SQL, and Python.
• Implement and operate orchestration with Airflow/Cloud Composer; monitor health and SLAs.
• Integrate data platforms with upstream sources and third-party APIs.
• Enforce data access controls, security, and FedRAMP/FISMA-aligned practices.
• Build data cataloging and lineage to support governance and auditability.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and analysts for reliable data delivery.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code with Terraform; support CI/CD for data assets.
• Support data quality frameworks including profiling and anomaly detection.
• Contribute to security documentation and data classifications.
