Job summary

Virginia Retirement System in Virginia is seeking a Data Analyst to perform complex data analysis, report development, and data quality assurance. You will work independently and with teams, using SQL, Power BI and Tableau to improve reporting capabilities and inform decisions.

The ideal candidate has solid data analysis experience, strong communication skills to explain technical results to non-technical audiences, and a track record of delivering actionable insights in a hybrid work

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to five years of experience in data analysis, data science, and/or data warehousing.
Advanced knowledge of SQL.
Knowledge of DAX, Power BI, and/or other similar system.
Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and presentation.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with business process owners and data owners to ensure data-related objectives are understood and documented.
Gather, evaluate and document business and technical requirements related to data for new systems, enhancements and defects based on business user input and data needs.
Support team members by creating customizable, interactive reports with SQL, Power BI or Tableau.
