Job summary

The Virginia Retirement System (VRS) is seeking a Data Analyst to perform complex data analysis, create reports, and improve data quality through scalable reporting solutions. You will translate business needs into data-driven insights using SQL, Power BI, and Tableau, collaborating across business units and IT.

Hybrid work with on-site collaboration two to three days per week, and a focus on communicating technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of experience in data analysis, data science, and/or data warehousing.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL.
• Knowledge of DAX and Power BI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data owners to document objectives.
• Gather requirements for data systems and enhancements.
• Create customizable reports using SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Design data-driven analyses to improve customer experience.
• Present findings with dashboards and presentations.
