Job summary

The Virginia Retirement System is seeking a Data Analyst to work independently and with a team in Richmond, VA. You will perform complex data analysis, create interactive reports and dashboards using SQL, Power BI, and Tableau, and develop data quality assurance processes.

The role is full-time and hybrid (three days on-site, two days remote), requiring collaboration with business teams, gathering requirements, and presenting data-driven recommendations to improve customer experience and agency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, data science, or data warehousing.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL.
• Knowledge of DAX, Power BI, and Tableau.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Job description

The Data Analyst will work independently and as part of a team at the Virginia Retirement System to perform complex data analysis, reporting, and develop data quality assurance processes. The role involves collaborating with business teams to gather requirements, create interactive reports and dashboards using SQL, Power BI, and Tableau, and present data-driven recommendations to improve customer experience and agency objectives. This is a full-time, hybrid position (three days on-site, two days remote) based in Richmond, Virginia.

Key qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, data science, statistics or related field
• Three to five years of experience in data analysis, data science, and/or data warehousing
• Advanced knowledge of SQL
• Knowledge of DAX, Power BI, and/or similar systems
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
