Job summary

AEGIS Insurance Services, Inc. seeks an Assistant Underwriter, Casualty Underwriting to provide technical support to the Underwriting team.

You will help deliver accurate submissions, quotes, binders and invoices while maintaining service standards for Members-Policyholders and brokers. The role emphasizes collaboration, timely processing, and premium collection responsibilities, with a hybrid work schedule and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 year of business experience; experience in an insurance company or broker environment desired.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience; degree in business related field a plus.
• Professional insurance designation a plus.
• Working knowledge of insurance terms, concepts, products, and coverages desired.
• Working knowledge of technical underwriting rating systems desired.
• Familiarity with rating, quoting, binding and issuing policies is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor workload and manage submissions for assigned Underwriters.
• Enter submission info into the Underwriting System and set up quotes.
• Proofread documents for grammar, spelling and underwriting consistency.
• Prepare and process policies in line with processing procedures.
• Assist Underwriters with issues, coordinate with Brokers and Members-Policyholders.
