Job summary

LIPA seeks an IT Analyst, Cyber Security to protect Long Island Power Authority’s information assets and networks. You will implement and monitor security controls, assess risks, and collaborate with system admins and business units to enforce security policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.
• At least 3 years of IT and cyber security experience.
• One of the listed certifications: CISSP/SSCP or CompTIA Cyber Security+.
• Knowledge of regulatory security standards and procedures.
• Understanding of network architecture and topologies.
• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot cyber security problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, maintains, upgrades cyber security hardware and software.
• Monitors security incidents and responds using incident response practices.
• Conducts security audits and provides gap analysis against standards.
• Administers user identifications and access controls at the application level.
• Monitors security logs for intrusions and violations.
• Participates in planning and implementation of security design for new applications.
• Assists in disaster recovery tests and business continuity planning.
• Supports privacy and security policy compliance.
• Delivers cyber security awareness training to diverse audiences.
• Works with vendors on audits, vulnerability assessments, and mitigation plans.
