Job summary

Kforce's client in Raleigh, NC is seeking a hybrid Cost/Inventory Accountant with 2-4 years of public accounting audits experience, focused on manufacturing/inventory clients. The role offers exposure to US HQ and a strong benefits package.

Responsibilities include cost development, inventory variances, month-end close, SOX controls, and cross-department collaboration with Supply Planning, Quality, Procurement, and Tax.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 3-7 years of cost/inventory accounting experience in manufacturing, or 2-3 years of public accounting audit in manufacturing/inventory.
• Corporate/Operational/SOX audit support experience.
• Strong Excel (pivot tables) skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports established products and helps with newly launched products.
• Helps with process improvements, reporting automation and enhanced business insights.
• Cost development for materials, finished goods and packaging.
• Assist in purchase price variances and inventory variances.
• Monitor inventory balances/valuation, obsolescence, inventory tracking files and cost documentation.
• Support monthly close activities related to inventory, manufacturing and supply chain accounting.
• Maintain financial controls for inventory and cost accounting processes.
• Support quarterly reviews and annual audit activities.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assist in maintaining audit-ready inventory and cost accounting files.
• Support annual physical inventory planning, execution and reconciliation.
