Job summary

Parametrix is seeking a Cost Estimator to join its Advisory Services team. The role focuses on construction cost estimating, cost engineering, and related project controls for infrastructure and public utilities.

The position offers hybrid work options, collaboration with clients, and mentorship opportunities. Ideal candidates have 4+ years in cost estimating, knowledge of multiple estimating tools, and a technical bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in construction management or engineering with a focus on cost estimating.
• 2+ years of experience developing cost estimates through planning and design phases.
• Exposure to estimating software such as RS Means Online, Blue Beam, Timberline, and HCSS.
• Life Cycle Cost estimates knowledge to compare long-term economic trade-offs.
• Knowledge of CSI MasterFormat and UniFormat classifications.
• Science-based bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as construction management, engineering, economics, or finance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a multi-discipline engineering team as a cost estimator.
• Support development of conceptual and detailed estimates.
• Conduct quantity and material takeoffs.
• Build Basis of Cost Estimate from feedback from users, owners, and engineering teams.
• Conduct market research to understand cost drivers for material and labor.
• Engage with clients in workshops and prepare defensible data for decision-making.
• Collaborate across projects to ensure successful execution.
