Aston Carter is seeking a Cost Accountant for a hybrid role in Minneapolis, MN. The position focuses on inventory management, cost control, and revenue recognition within a large manufacturing context.

The candidate will handle standard cost maintenance, monthly closings, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate financial reporting. This contract role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days in the office and an initial five-day onsite training period.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with inventory reconciliations, aging, reserve, and scrap analyses.
• Month-end closings and journal entries for inventory and variance accounts.
• Accounts receivable processes including customer invoicing, reconciliations, collections, and cash application.
• Revenue recognition including accruals, deferred revenue analysis, and policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standard costs for raw materials and finished goods to ensure accurate costing and inventory valuation.
• Perform monthly closings, reconciliations, and journal entries related to inventory and variance accounts.
• Support invoicing, cash application, and AR reconciliations; review aging and collect as needed.
• Support revenue recognition activities, including accruals and deferred revenue analysis.
• Lead cost of sales planning and forecasting; analyze material, labor, and overhead costs; review variances.
