Job summary

Lighthouse at Chico Assisted Living in Chico, CA is hiring a versatile Cook / Server to support both kitchen and dining room duties. The position requires flexibility to switch between cooking and guest services as needed and to maintain high standards of food safety and hospitality.

Candidates should have prior food service experience, a Food Handler Certification or ServSafe, and the ability to operate a POS system.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in Cook/Server roles or cross-functional food service is preferred.
• Food Handler Certification / ServSafe or willingness to complete on hire.
• Ability to learn and operate POS systems and basic kitchen equipment.
• Strong multitasking with a calm approach during peak hours.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Kitchen duties during cook shifts: prepare ingredients, cook to standard, present dishes.
• Front-of-House duties during server shifts: greet guests, take orders, use the POS.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation, FIFO, and stock rotation.
• Keep stations clean, organized, and stocked; flexible to cover shifts.
