Job summary
Energy Jobline ZR in Grand Ledge, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer II to lead automation projects from concept through commissioning, working with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The role offers hybrid schedule and opportunities to impact complex manufacturing systems.
You will design control systems, develop PLC/HMI programs in Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA Portal, and manage projects from concept to completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent
- 3-5 years controls or automation engineering experience
- Experience with Safety PLCs and machine safety standards
- Knowledge of ISO 13849, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and industrial networking
Responsibilities
- Design electrical control systems including schematics, panels, and I/O using AutoCAD Electrical
- Develop PLC and HMI programs using Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA Portal
- Design, troubleshoot, and optimize hydraulic and pneumatic circuits
- Integrate sensors, VFDs, servos, vision systems, and safety components
- Lead commissioning, startup, power-up, and debugging activities
- Manage small to mid-sized automation projects from concept to completion
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, project management, and customers
- Develop operator manuals and maintenance documentation
