Job summary

ICON Consultants, LP in Houston, TX seeks a short-term Contracts Specialist to support a supplier compliance effort for a major energy project in Utah.

You will update contract terms with 60–70 oilfield service, construction and equipment suppliers, send outreach, track responses, and pursue closure.

The role is a hybrid, 2–5 month contract with possible extension, requiring organization, persistence and strong Excel tracking for weekly status.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in contract administration, procurement or supplier management.
• Experience managing contract amendments and signature routing across many counterparties.
• Excellent organization with ability to manage 50+ open threads.
• Clear, professional written communication with external suppliers.
• Proactive follow-up, persistent and courteous.
• Strong Excel skills for tracking and reporting.
• Good judgment on when to resolve or escalate issues.

Responsibilities

• Supplier outreach: Send communications and contract documents to a defined list of suppliers.
• Tracker ownership: Keep a single, current status record for every supplier: what was sent, what came back, what's outstanding and who owns the next step.
• Follow-up: Chase open items on a regular schedule, escalated stalled suppliers, and report progress and blockers weekly.
• Contract amendments: Prepare, route and track amendments and exhibits to existing Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
• Compliance information: Collect supplier responses on workforce classifications, subcontractors and payroll processes. Flag gaps or problems for review.
• Supplier questions: Answer routine questions using approved guidance. Route legal or commercial questions to the right internal owner.
• Gap identification: Identify suppliers with missing agreements, outdated contacts or unclear scope, and help resolve them.
• Close-out: Confirm each supplier is complete, and leave documentation thorough enough for the work to be audited and handed over.
