Job summary

The Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC) is seeking a Contracts & Procurement Specialist to support contract administration, procurement activities and technical services in a hybrid College Park, MD environment.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, this entry-level role assists with procurement processes, maintains documentation, coordinates contract activities, and supports clean energy projects while ensuring compliance with laws and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
• 1–3 years of procurement/contract administration or related experience preferred.
• Experience with government, nonprofit, or public-sector organizations preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement activities from planning through contract execution and close-out.
• Prepare RFPs/RFQs/IFBs and other procurement documents for review.
• Maintain procurement schedules and track milestones and deliverables.
• Assist in preparing contracts, amendments, task orders, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain procurement and contract files with accurate, organized documentation.
• Coordinate contract routing, execution, and filing.
• Assist with proposal evaluations by coordinating meetings and materials.
• Communicate with vendors and contractors regarding procurement activities and documentation.
• Track contract compliance requirements, insurance certificates, reporting deadlines, and expiration dates.
• Assist with contract close-out activities and record retention.
• Support procurement and technical assistance for clean energy projects.
