Job summary

Battelle is seeking Contracts & Procurement Interns for Summer 2027 in a hybrid role based in Columbus, OH. Interns will gain hands-on experience across the federal acquisition process, including subcontracts, data analytics, and contract modifications.

Responsibilities include evaluating proposals, supporting negotiations, and maintaining audit-ready records while learning procurement policies and government regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s or degree in Business, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
• Must have at least two years of college experience by the start of the internship.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and willingness to take on challenges.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Applicants for this position must be a U.S. Person, as defined by U.S. export control laws.

Responsibilities

• Issues/Reviews RFP/RFQ's and obtains/provides proposals/quotes for products and services for new business proposals and ongoing projects.
• Reviews and evaluates proposals/quotes for fair prices and compliance; assists with complex solicitations.
• Supports negotiation of agreements to mitigate risks and optimize profitability.
• Prepares, organizes, and maintains records in an audit-ready condition.
• Recommends sources of supply and vendor/order selection.
• Analyzes procurement/contract requirements to ensure compliance with laws and Battelle policies.
• Assists with administering compliance reviews and mock audits.
