Job summary

Battelle is seeking a Human Centric Design/ Design Intern to join our Medical Devices Business in Columbus, Ohio for Summer Semester 2027. The role blends user research with concept development to deliver human-centered design solutions and meaningful user experiences.

You will work on cross-functional teams, gain hands-on design experience, and learn how research translates into final product concepts while adapting to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Sophomore standing or higher in a design program enrolled at an accredited university.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• U.S. Person per export control laws.

Responsibilities

• Supporting team members in usability research and the design and development of medical and commercial products and systems
• Gaining hands-on experience through assisting in user research and design activities
• Assisting in the generation 2D & 3D design concepts that meet stated project objectives
• Participating in other facets of product development such as concept generation, prototyping, data analysis, etc.
