Job summary

Battelle in Columbus, OH is seeking a Public Health Research Intern to support a range of social, behavioral, clinical, and survey operations research tracks this summer. The role offers hands-on study support, literature reviews, data entry and management, and opportunities to contribute to scientific writing under senior staff guidance.

The position requires pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public health or a related field, strong MS Office skills, and familiarity with statistical software.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, biology/chemistry, psychology, behavioral medicine, sociology, communications or a related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office; statistical software experience preferred (SAS, SPSS, STATA, NVivo).
• Conscientious work ethic with extreme attention to detail and reliability.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to support multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must be a US Person as defined by US export laws.

Responsibilities

• Support various data collection methods from human subjects, including focus groups or cognitive interviews.
• Manage respondent incentives and distribute study progress reports to management or clients.
• Enter study data and verify accuracy to ensure high data quality.
• Provide data management support.
• Conduct literature reviews and environment scans; summarize findings.
