Job summary

The Thrasher Group is seeking a Construction & Materials Testing Specialist to join our growing team in a hybrid role that blends material testing and construction inspection to ensure quality and compliance across a diverse range of projects.

You will perform sampling and field testing, interpret plans, and maintain detailed records while communicating findings to stakeholders. This position supports professional development in a collaborative, flexible environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction inspection or material testing.
• Testing experience highly desirable.
• OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR certifications preferred.
• ACI or WVDOH testing certifications highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform sampling and field testing on construction materials including concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and soil.
• Interpret civil construction plans and specifications.
• Monitor construction progress, adherence to plans, and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain detailed records of project quantities, daily reports, and changes.
• Keep accurate redline and as-built drawings to document project modifications.
• Communicate findings through written reports and facilitate information flow among all project stakeholders.
• Ensure quality standards are met and proactively prevent construction defects.
• Adapt to varying job site locations and schedules, including night shift assignments.
• Travel to project sites as needed, including periodic extended stays.
• Complete certification courses to continuously build skills and technical knowledge.
• Willingness to support other divisions and take on additional roles as workload demands.
