Job summary

Ropes & Gray LLP seeks a Conflicts Analyst to support the firm’s risk management by handling conflict of interest reporting, research, and waiver drafting for new business and lateral hires. This non-exempt role is within the Office of General Counsel, with a flexible schedule.

The candidate will research corporate structures, review complex results, generate reports, and assist in waivers and engagement letters to clear potential conflicts. Strong discretion and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• Experience in a compliance, regulatory, financial, or legal environment strongly preferred.
• Database research experience (Lexis, Elite, LegalKey/Elegrity/Intapp/iManage) preferred.
• Exceptional customer service orientation and interpersonal skills, strong PC and data entry skills, analytic and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct corporate research and build corporate trees.
• Review and interpret complex search results for conflict analysis.
• Generate conflict reports and follow up on requests, including waivers as needed.
• Review conflict reports and identify resolution options.
• Communicate substantive information and next steps to attorneys.
• Draft and revise waiver language under supervision.
• Record all necessary conflict resolution documentation.
• Triager and process lateral, bankruptcy, and independence memo searches.
• Create new matter files and maintain client data in the billing system.
• Perform other special projects as assigned.
