Job summary

National Debt Relief seeks a Compliance Associate to join our Legal and Compliance team in a hybrid New York City role. The position focuses on contract review, regulatory compliance, vendor management, and business advisory matters within consumer financial services.

Under supervision, you will gain exposure to state and federal regulators, examinations, outside counsel, and senior leadership across multiple business lines, with opportunities for meaningful ownership as you grow in the role.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; or eligible for admission in New York.
• Entry-level position; no prior post-graduate legal experience required.
• Experience in consumer financial services, contracting, privacy preferred.
• Ability to analyze regulatory and compliance issues and translate them into practical business guidance.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and deadline management.
• Discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and revise commercial agreements and vendor contracts.
• Prepare compliance analyses for regulatory, privacy, data security, consumer protection, and vendor risk matters.
• Support internal stakeholders on contract terms and approval processes.
• Manage full contract lifecycle from intake to renewal and termination.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research related to business transactions and consumer protection.
• Assist with regulatory filings, licensing matters, examinations, and inquiries.
• Collaborate with outside counsel on transactional and compliance matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve legal and compliance processes and reduce risk.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts and related documentation.
• Ensure Policies and Procedures remain compliant and up to date.
• Prioritize open items and manage deadlines.
