Job summary

Berkshire Pulse Inc. seeks a Community and School Programs Coordinator to oversee community classes, partnerships, and school residencies across Berkshire County.

You will work closely with the Artistic Director and teaching artists to plan curricula, set program goals, and foster community engagement. The role involves coordinating both in-studio and off-site programs, managing communications, and assisting with grants and reporting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional work experience in program coordination, advocacy, or community outreach preferred.
• Experience in dance, theater, music, or arts education is beneficial.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates on-site classes and workshops for Teen and Adult Community Class Program.
• Coordinates on-site artist residencies and performances.
• Maintains all off-site Community and School programs and partnerships.
• Stays informed on local education system developments and participates in sector-wide conversations.
• Assists with grant materials such as program proposals and descriptions.
• Facilitates conversations with on-site Community program teaching artists for planning and development.
• Oversees website information and school/community calendars.
• Oversees all pertinent staff communications related to community programs.
• Drafts and maintains program budgets; negotiates faculty salaries.
• Collects feedback, evaluations, and data with the Programs Assistant.
• Coordinates the Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires’ Afterschool Dance classes in Pittsfield.
• Acts as a community liaison with partnering organizations as needed for program development.
• Supervises and mentors the Programs Assistant; provides training and support.
• Hold weekly check-ins to review progress and responsibilities.
