Job summary

Barrington Stage Company, based in the Berkshires, seeks Teaching Artists to join our roster of theatre educators for programs in Pittsfield and at MCLA and partner schools. Reports to Jane O'Leary, director of education. Start date October 2026.

Positions are hourly and located across Pittsfield, MA, with afterschool weekday sessions. We particularly seek individuals with a background in devising original theater, including composers, directors, playwrights, and other multi-hyphenate creatives

Qualifications

• Background in devising original theater.
• Experience as a teaching artist or in arts education.
• Ability to lead workshops and facilitate creative processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead teaching artist sessions with students across educational programs.
• Collaborate with Barrington Stage staff, schools and partners in Pittsfield.
• Develop and shepherd original theater projects with students.
