Job summary

San Diego Community Power seeks a Community Engagement Associate to support SDREN outreach, coordinating activities with consultants, local governments, and community partners. The role focuses on education, engagement, and program awareness across San Diego County.

The ideal candidate has strong communication and project management skills, experience with outreach to diverse communities, and the ability to work hybrid schedules, including evenings or weekends for events.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the implementation of customer-facing programs and community outreach, education, and engagement initiatives that increase awareness and participation in Community Power and SDREN programs, offers, rebates and incentives.
• Coordinate with internal departments, consultants, contractors, program implementers, local governments and other regional partners to ensure consistent messaging across Community Power programs and SDREN initiatives, while facilitating meetings and tracking action items.
• Serve as a point of contact for community partners, customers, contractors and members of the public by responding to inquiries and connecting customers with resources.
• Represent Community Power at events, workshops, resource fairs, public meetings, conferences, and neighborhood gatherings to communicate SDREN benefits to diverse audiences (evenings/weekends).
• Ensure outreach materials remain current, accurate, accessible, culturally appropriate and aligned with SDREN branding.
• Coordinate distribution of outreach materials and education to community partners.
• Assist with documenting program outcomes through testimonials and impact reporting.
• Support preparation of reports, presentations and briefing materials for leadership and committees.
• Develop standard operating procedures for coordinating outreach and seek improvements.
• Identify partnerships that expand SDREN’s reach into targeted communities.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
