Job summary

Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Community Development Coordinator I to lead community engagement initiatives across New York State, collaborating with Office of Public Health staff, regional offices, and local health departments to strengthen partnerships and improve health outcomes.

The role emphasizes outreach, program development, and contract management to advance health equity and workforce development across diverse communities. A hybrid work schedule and travel up to 25% are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of relevant experience in a health, human service or community-based organization that includes performing community development or economic development activities, providing community organizing and mobilization services, urban planning activities, or closely related experience; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience.
• A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate initiatives and activities for the Office of Public Health, Regional Offices, and Local Health Departments by partnering with community-based organizations, workforce development institutions, rural health organizations, faith-based organizations, local governmental agencies, local businesses and/or community networks to ensure programs reach all New York communities.
• Engage in outreach strategies that encourage formation of new partnerships, as well as improve existing partnerships.
• Communicate and provide guidance for NYS Department of Health emergency preparedness mandates and information.
