Job summary

NYC Health Department is seeking a Community Coordinator to support the Division of Disease Control's outreach and health education initiatives. You will plan, organize, and monitor community programs addressing infectious diseases and health equity within diverse New York communities.

Responsibilities include creating outreach materials, coordinating with DOHMH colleagues and external partners, and presenting at meetings to advance community engagement.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in community work or related duties.
• High school diploma and six years of experience in community work or related duties.
• All candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in option 1.

Responsibilities

• Manage health education priorities within the bureau to plan, coordinate, and monitor community outreach initiatives related to infectious diseases.
• Organize and facilitate outreach initiatives focusing on underserved populations.
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining health education materials and inventory.
• Develop and maintain outreach materials with a racial equity lens.
• Develop collaborative relationships with colleagues and external partners.
• Track and evaluate outreach data to report on impact and equity.
• Attend and present at meetings to support Community Engagement activities.
• Support seasonal staff and interns during peak outbreak activities.
