Job summary

VCU School of Education is seeking a Communications and Assistance Specialist to provide top-tier customer service and support for VALRC programs. This virtual role will require occasional in-person meetings and events, with a hybrid work arrangement in Virginia.

The role supports registration, event planning, and technical assistance for online courses, ensuring smooth operations and excellent learner experiences across the state.

Qualifications

• Superior customer support skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to work independently.
• Experience using email systems, LMS, Wordpress, and collaborative documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality customer service through phone and email.
• Serve as the primary contact for the VALRC main phone line, the GED test help line, and the VALRC general email account.
• Organize informal weekly phone and email communications reports for the VALRC team.
• Maintain and update the Provider Directories of adult education programs on the valrc.org and gedva.com sites.
• Support VALRC’s registration and evaluation processes by collecting and organizing participant information.
• Provide technical assistance for online training offerings, including monitoring registrations and assisting trainers during online meetings.
• Assist in planning and organizing in-person events, including logistics and procurement.
• Maintain open communication with the VALRC team and attend regular check-ins.
