Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University seeks a Communications and Assistance Specialist for VALRC within the School of Education. You will provide frontline customer service to adult education instructors and programs, manage registrations, and support online courses and trainings.

The role is hybrid and up to 29 hours per week, with a pay range of $25.00–$27.00 per hour. Occasional in-person meetings and events are required.

Qualifications

Superior customer support skills.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Strong organizational skills with ability to function independently.
Ability to learn how to utilize technologies such as email systems, LMS, Wordpress.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality customer service through phone and email.
Serve as the primary contact for the VALRC main phone line, GED test help line, and the VALRC general email account.
Organize informal weekly phone and email communications reports for the VALRC team.
Maintain and update the Provider Directories of adult education programs on valrc.org and gedva.com.
Support VALRC’s registration and evaluation processes by collecting and organizing participant information.
Provide technical assistance for online training offerings, including monitoring registrations and assisting trainers during online meetings and webinars.
Assist in planning and organizing in-person events, including registration information and logistics.
Maintain open communication with the VALRC team and attend regular check-ins.
