Job summary

MarshBerry, a global leader in investment banking and strategic consulting for the financial services industry, seeks a Placement Specialist, Commercial for our Richmond, Virginia office. This hybrid role requires market, quote, and binding new business, and building value through strong client and carrier relationships.

You will work onsite Monday-Thursday with the option to remote on Fridays; must have 5+ years in commercial insurance, a P&C license, and proficiency with CRM and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field or 8+ years’ experience in commercial insurance.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial lines insurance; P&C license required.
• Proficient with CRM, MS Word, Excel, and Power Point; Knowledge of Applied Epic is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance coverages and carriers.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Review new business submissions and triage opportunities within procedures and timelines.
• Market new and renewal business based on risk and location; prepare carrier proposals.
• Develop relationships with members; collaborate with regional sales leaders for cross-sell.
• Educate agents and insureds regarding insurance coverages, needs, and pricing.
• Maintain a suspense system to follow up on quotes and bind policies.
