Job summary

MarshBerry, a subsidiary of Lincoln International, is seeking a Placement Specialist, Commercial for our Richmond, VA office. This hybrid role involves marketing, quoting, and binding new business; maintaining carrier relationships; and delivering exceptional customer service to FirstChoice members and partners.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business, 5+ years in commercial insurance, a P&C license, and proficiency with CRM, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or other related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial lines insurance.
• P&C license required. Additional insurance designations or licenses are a plus.
• Proficient with technology: CRM, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Knowledge of Applied Epic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review new business submissions and triage appropriately; identify best opportunities and declines within procedures and timeline.
• Market new and renewal business based on risk profile and location; prepare carrier-generated proposals.
• Develop relationships with members in the assigned territory; work with regional leaders on cross-sell opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of underwriting, regulations, carrier appetites, and educate agents and insureds on coverages and pricing.
• Maintain a suspense system to follow-up on quotes and binding.
• Maintain electronic files per SOPs; provide timely customer service to members and partners.
• Contribute to written premium goals; handle special projects as assigned.
