Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. seeks a Claims Representative for the Commercial Auto APD team. You will review claims promptly through research, evaluation, investigation and negotiation, handling mostly less complex cases with insureds and claimants.

This hybrid role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 1–3 years of claims handling, MS Office proficiency, and knowledge of insurance practices. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• State licensure as required.
• 1-3 years claims handling experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suites.
• Demonstrated skills in investigation, evaluation and negotiation.
• Knowledge of insurance theory and practices.
• Knowledge of Commercial Auto, Garage Keepers, and total loss experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Investigates the claim or coverage by making timely and appropriate contact with involved parties.
• Verifies coverage and policy conditions and drafts positions as needed.
• Interacts with internal and external parties to obtain information.
• Establishes reserves based on likely outcomes and adjusts as needed.
• Effectively settles and negotiates non-litigated claims.
• Builds critical thinking and decision-making skills to analyze issues.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with customers.
• Writes clear, factual notes in Claims files.
• Manages time and diary entries in a fast-paced environment.
• Performs other functional duties as assigned.
