Job summary

J. Baur Machining is seeking a hybrid CNC Programmer/Set-Up Machinist to program in the office and set up machines on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a CNC Set-Up Operator and strong programming knowledge to impact our Mazak and HAAS equipment using Mastercam, Mazatrol, and EIA. You will work closely with the CNC Program Manager, develop processes from raw materials to finished goods, and design programs and inspection sheets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a CNC machine set-up operator.
• Experience independently setting up a job from start to finish per blueprint.
• Strong CNC programming knowledge to impact shop operations.
• Graduating from a trade school is a bonus; years of experience also valued.
• Team-oriented with ability to train and troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop programs for CNC tools and create the set-up sheets.
• Design programs for CMM equipment and inspection sheets.
• Audit repeats to ensure best processes and materials.
• Set up, edit, and run first article inspections on machines.
• Train Machine Tool Set-Up Operators and troubleshoot on machines.
