Job summary

Peraton in Herndon, VA is seeking a Software Architect to guide architecture across the software lifecycle for the DOS CSModernization program. The role focuses on establishing requirements, modeling with UML/SysML, and delivering scalable, secure microservices within a hybrid cloud framework.

You will design and communicate architectural guidelines, evaluate tools, and support development across Java web apps, REST services, and automated tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years' relevant experience.
• Experience architecting high-volume, highly available and secure software systems in Agile.
• Experience developing service-based solutions using REST-based services (Spring MVC, Spring Boot).
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with static code analyzers (CAST, HP Fortify, SonarQube).

Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, and recommend tools and technologies for the CSM Program.
• Elicit customer requirements and develop system engineering models using UML/SysML.
• Define software requirements and epics to support Agile development.
• Architect complex software systems using hybrid cloud architecture and microservices.
• Define architectural guidelines for software systems design.
• Design software using standard patterns to improve maintainability, performance, and security.
• Provide development support across Java-based web apps, REST services, and testing.
