Job summary

GDIT in Rockville, MD is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and operate security infrastructure across on-prem and AWS environments. You will deploy AWS Network Firewall, WAF, and Palo Alto firewalls while modernizing with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and automation.

Requires 5+ years of hands-on cloud security engineering, experience securing hybrid environments, and ability to obtain Public Trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combined with 5+ years of hands-on cloud security engineering experience
• Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting AWS security services and Palo Alto Networks firewalls
• Experience securing hybrid on-premises/AWS environments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, scripting and security automation
• Strong understanding of networking and security fundamentals and zero-trust concepts

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls for AWS multi-account and hybrid-cloud environments
• Deploy and manage AWS security capabilities (Network Firewall, WAF, Shield, IAM, KMS, VPC, etc.)
• Design secure connectivity and segmentation between AWS and on-premises environments
• Develop secure architectures spanning AWS and on-premises infrastructure using defense-in-depth and Zero Trust
• Automate security operations, compliance reporting, and policy enforcement using APIs and IaC
