Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Arlington, VA seeks a Systems Engineer to deploy and manage large-scale infrastructure, with strong Windows background and automation focus. The role involves working in a hybrid environment and supporting data center operations.

You will collaborate with global teams, drive security improvements, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation with travel up to 25%. Onsite five days a week is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Linux systems administration and/or development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a technical field.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience in a 24/7 production environment.
• Experience building scripts and automation using Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby or Bash/Shell.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and support large-scale Windows environments across physical data center infrastructure.
• Oversee data center construction initiatives and rack deployment; support infrastructure refresh projects.
• Design and develop automation tools and scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline deployment and operations.
• Leverage AWS cloud services to support hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Lead multiple concurrent projects focused on infrastructure optimization, security enhancements, and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with networking, software, developers, and controls engineers; communicate technical concepts clearly to global teams.
• Implement robust security measures, identify risks, and ensure compliance during transitions.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and travel up to ~25%.
