Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA seeks a Systems Engineer to deploy and manage large-scale infrastructure, prioritize automation, and support hybrid cloud environments. The role requires strong Windows/server experience, Linux familiarity, and scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash).

Travel ~25% and on-call duties are expected. You will collaborate with global teams to improve security, reliability, and operational efficiency, driving complex projects across data center operations

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Linux systems administration and/or development experience.
• 1+ years in two or more languages: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, or Bash/Shell.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and support large scale Windows environments across data center infrastructure.
• Design and develop automation tools and scripts to streamline deployment.
• Leverage AWS cloud services to support hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Lead multiple projects focused on infrastructure optimization, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with networking, software, and controls teams; communicate clearly across global teams.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and maintain readiness for travel.
