Job summary

Oak Street Health in Tucson, AZ is seeking a full-time Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with clinical documentation. The role is hybrid-remote (must live in AZ) after a 90-day probation, with 2 days from home and 3 days onsite, coordinated with management.

Responsibilities include documenting patient encounters, coding CPT/ICD-10, and supporting care teams. The ideal candidate has medical terminology knowledge and prior clinical or scribe experience, with a commitment of 1–2

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering.
• Prior scribe or transcription experience.

Responsibilities

• Documenting Patient Encounters ~ 80%
• Joining the provider in the exam room to observe patient visits
• Documenting patient encounters in a structured note, including HPI, assessment, plan, and exam
• Assigning appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Preparing After Visit Summaries
• Clinical Documentation Improvement ~ 10%
• Administrative support for your provider and care team ~ 10%
• Placing orders and referrals
• Addressing tasks
• Supporting the care team with additional responsibilities related to clinical documentation
