Progressive is seeking a claims adjuster trainee in Rutherford, NJ. This hybrid role allows two in-office days chosen by local leadership and up to three remote days for a 12-month training period, with ongoing coaching and comprehensive training on property damage and insurance contracts.

Post-training, scheduling may require days like 8:00am–5:00pm or 9:00am–6:00pm based on business needs, with potential in-office preference.

Qualifications

• High School/GED is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or two years work experience with an associate degree.
• Schedule requires Monday–Friday with varying start times during and after training.

Responsibilities

• Determine coverage for claims.
• Determine liability for damages.
• Interview customers, claimants, and witnesses.
• Coordinate with appraisers/estimators to manage vehicle repairs.
• Negotiate with customers and other carriers and resolve claims.
