Job summary

Progressive Insurance in Rutherford, NJ is seeking a claims adjuster trainee. This hybrid role combines in-office days with remote work for up to 12 months, followed by on-site meetings as needed.

You’ll receive coaching and training to advance in claims handling. During training you’ll determine coverage and liability, interview customers and witnesses, partner with appraisers to manage vehicle repairs, and negotiate with customers and other carriers to resolve claims.

Qualifications

• Three years of work experience OR
• Bachelor's degree OR
• Two years work experience and an associate degree

Responsibilities

• Determine coverage
• Determine liability (who's at fault for the damages)
• Interview customers, claimants, and witnesses
• Partner with appraisers/estimators to manage vehicle repairs
• Negotiate with customers and other insurance carriers and resolve claims
